The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. By Mark Twain. Signed by Carl P. Rollins. Signed Limited Edition. Limited Editions Club. New York, 1933.

$200.00

A pinnacle of American literature, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is Mark Twain’s best work. It has defined American literature since its publication in 1884. As Ernest Hemingway famously put it, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called ‘Huckleberry Finn’.” Through engaging first-person narration, authentic dialect, and an exciting tale of escape down the Mississippi River, Mark Twain captured something essential about American culture. This edition is also noteworthy for its publisher. It was the first Limited Editions Club version of the text. It was designed by Carl P. Rollins and contains the original illustrations by E.W. Kemble.

This signed limited edition is signed by Rollins on the colophon. It is #28 of 1,500 copies. It is in very good condition. In the original cloth, very good with only some soiling and fading, mainly to spine. Text block fine. With the original slipcase, very good with some chipping, soiling, and rubbing.

A scarce LEC copy of Huckleberry Finn.
