$30.00
Henry James was a late nineteenth and early twentieth century novelist who ushered in literary modernism. He was born in America but emigrated to England. He began publishing in the 1870s and produced a remarkable number of literary classics. His works are known for their mastery of the internal lives of their characters, a quality renowned by the modernists who followed him. Although he wrote many exceptional novels, James is also highly regarded as a short story writer, and in fact, some of his short stories are his most lasting contributions. In this volume, they are collected alongside illustrations by Ben Wohlberg. They include “Daisy Miller”, “The Marriages”, and “The Turn of the Screw”. Together they represent some of his best work.
