Dan Smith was an American illustrator of high acclaim in the early twentieth century. He was commissioned for numerous projects, but none have remained as iconic as his World War I propaganda pieces. This original poster is perhaps the most famous example. It was commissioned by the American Library Association (ALA). Prints were distributed to libraries and other public places across the country in the late 1910s. It remains one of the best pieces of WWI popular art.

This original WWI poster is in very good condition. Measures 28×19 inches unframed. Only minor creasing to edges and professional repair to tear along bottom edge. Professionally framed with museum-quality glass.
