Tony Bennett was an icon of American music in the twentieth century. In the 1950s, he recorded some of the most popular songs of the era. His innovation was bringing jazz elements to pop music and elevating vocal jazz in particular. For his contributions, he earned 20 Grammys, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and many other accolades. In the 2000s, his career had a kind of resurgence, too, as many pop artists sought collaborations and lent praise to the jazz legend. In The Good Life, Bennett remembers his long life in music. He covers his childhood influences and his relationships with artists spanning a century–from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra to Madonna and Elvis Costello. In the back matter, the book also provides Bennett’s selected discography up to 1998. It is an impressive list, but certainly incomplete. He would go on to record many other albums for two more decades.

This first edition, first printing is signed by Bennett on the verso of the title page. It is in fine condition. In the original quarter cloth, fine. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, very nearly fine with only minor rubbing.
