William Walcot was a Scottish-Russian artist, architect, and etcher who became a notable figure in the Art Nouveau Movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. His architecture and mosaics remain some of the best from the period. Yet he was equally talented as an etching artist. His etchings are noted for their dramatic approaches to shading and their fidelity to the cityscapes they often depict. In this set of prints, Walcot’s etchings are reproduced for subscribers of the Modern Masters of Etching series. The series was published in the 1920s and 30s. Each plate is tipped onto its original page. They are sold here as individual prints ready to be displayed. The available prints are:
