Alphonse Legros was a French artist who produced masterful paintings, etchings, and sculptures in the nineteenth century. He was widely regarded as an art professor as well, teaching in Paris and London for many years. His most notable etchings were portraits, but he also produced many landscapes and rural scenes. In this set of prints, Legros’s etchings are reproduced for subscribers of the Modern Masters of Etching series. The series was published in the 1920s and 30s. Each plate is tipped onto its original page. They are sold here as individual prints ready to be displayed. The available prints are:
