The Tommyknockers. By Stephen King. First Edition, First Printing. Putnam. New York, 1987.
$45.00
Stephen King is the most popular horror writer of the last one hundred years. His prolific output includes many of the bestselling horror novels of all time. His works have also consistently been adapted to film, making him one the most commercially successful writers ever. The Tommyknockers is one of his many beloved novels. It maintains his signature style of horror, but also ventures into science fiction. King himself has disparaged the work, having said that it was written during the height of his drug usage. Readers still appreciated it, however, and so The Tommyknockers remains a popular title among King’s many works. In 1993, it was adapted into a television mini-series of the same name, starring Marg Helgenberger and Jimmy Smits.
This first edition, first printing is in very good condition. In the original quarter cloth, very good with rubbing and soiling to edges. Text block very good, only foxing and soiling to edges and former owner’s inscription to front free endpaper. In the original dust jacket, very good with only minor dampstaining. First issue with “Permissions to Come” on the copyright page.
A very good first edition of The Tommyknockers.
