Hocus Pocus. By Kurt Vonnegut. First Trade Edition, First Printing. Putnam. New York, 1990.

Like many of Kurt Vonnegut’s novels, Hocus Pocus satirizes traditional American subjects, applies nonlinear structures, and masterfully lands its poignant humor. Coming in the latter half of his 50-year publishing career, Hocus Pocus shows a true writer at home with his craft. It was published simultaneously with the Canadian edition and the signed limited edition. Hocus Pocus is Vonnegut’s penultimate novel.

This first trade edition, first printing is in about-fine condition. In the original quarter cloth, fine. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, about-fine with only minor rubbing and one small closed tear to top edge.

An about-fine first trade edition of one of Vonnegut’s best.
