Al Gore’s political career has spanned many decades. He was a House Representative and Senator of Tennessee. He was the Vice President under Bill Clinton. In 2000, he was the democratic party’s nominee for president, but lost narrowly to George W. Bush in a historically controversial and close race. While Gore has since retired from elected office, he has continued to work as an advocate for numerous causes, especially climate awareness and environmentalism. His 2006 book and documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, has been particularly influential. Both the book and documentary won numerous awards for their insight into climate change. In this volume, The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change, Gore expands on that issue and several others in a broad look at the likely outcomes of our current economic, technological, and environmental practices. The work cites numerous studies and weaves together an incredible amount of information, showcasing Gore’s intellect and genuine preoccupation with our global future.
