$25.00

John Cheever was an American genius of short fiction. He is easily one of the best story writers of all time. His works earned him numerous awards, including a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, a National Medal for Literature, and a National Book Award. He had a keen understanding of conflicted inner lives, making his characters flawed, lucid, and relatable. In The World of Apples, ten of his works are published together for the first time in book-form. They were drawn from several serial publications through the 1960s and 1970s. The stories included are some of Cheever’s best–”The Fourth Alarm,” “The Geometry of Love,” and the titular story, “The World of Apples,” stand out in particular. It is a great story collection, one that underscores Cheever’s talent.

This first edition, first printing is in very good condition. In the original cloth, about-fine with only fading to edges. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, very good with one closed tear and minor bumping and rubbing to edges.

A very good first edition of John Cheever short stories.
