The Mark of Andreas Germer. By Ron Weighell. Special Edition of Quire 13. The Last Press. Winona, 2022.

Quire: A Literary Tract is a rare and special selection of letterpress printings. The series recalls the medieval quire in that it is a less-than-full-length book selection of pages by a single author. The series also recalls the earliest chapbooks from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries after printing became ubiquitous enough to become affordable so that the general public could buy literature of all sorts, including poetry and fiction, and even illiterate audiences could enjoy them as these folded sheets were often illustrated and were read aloud. With those sentiments in mind, The Last Press (an extension of the Sutton Hoo Press) releases these limited printings of Quire: A Literary Tract. This copy, Quire 13, is a special edition containing The Mark of Andreas Germer by Ron Wieghell. As a short story, it is unique among Quire selections.

This special edition is in fine condition. In the original flax wrappers, fine. Label pasted to front panel. Text block fine. Only 26 copies were bound in wrappers and lettered. This copy is not lettered, but bound–an extra special edition that served as the binding test copy for the press.

A scarce special edition of Quire 13: The Mark of Andreas Germer.
