Gary Young is a celebrated American poet and book artist. He has won a Pushcart Prize, the William Carlos Williams Award, and many other awards for his poetry. For many decades, he has lived and worked in Santa Cruz, California. His poetry is noted for its sincerity, voice, and tactful restraint. In No Harm Done, these qualities and more are on full display. It is the first book-form publication of this prose poem collection. It is scarce, but widely regarded as one of his best collections. This volume is also noteworthy for its fine craftsmanship. The ultra-light museum boards and light paper accentuate the spare style and subtle tenor of the poems. Published by the Sutton Hoo Press, an exceptional private press operating in rural Minnesota, this volume represents the necessary skill and artistry of the centuries’ old craft of bookmaking, brought into the twenty-first century.

This signed limited first edition from the Sutton Hoo Press is in fine condition. It is one of around 200 copies printed on Iyo Glazed, a Japanese handmade paper. It is bound with a chain stitch by Julia Leonard. Japanese paper boards. Original woodcuts by Gary Young. All fine. Young’s signature appears on the colophon.

A scarce signed limited first edition of No Harm Done.
