$2,000.00

Thomas Harris crafted one of the most sinister and intriguing psychopaths in literature with Dr. Hannibal Lecter. He first appears in Red Dragon, published in 1981–a novel that met positive reviews and inspired two film adaptations. Yet the Hannibal Lecter series truly became established through this volume, The Silence of the Lambs. It introduces FBI recruit Clarice Starling and the repulsive serial killer nicknamed Buffalo Bill. Lecter, of course, becomes an unfortunate consultant to Starling as she tries to catch Buffalo Bill. The novel is widely considered one of the best thrillers ever written and remains Harris’s greatest work. In 1991, the film adaptation also became a major cultural event, winning Best Picture with Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, a role that won him Best Actor. Jodie Foster, playing Starling, also won Best Actress.

This first edition, first printing is signed by Harris on the title page. It is in fine condition. In the original quarter cloth, fine. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, fine.
