Junot Diaz is one of the most celebrated American authors living today. His novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao won him the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction. His several works are noted for their vivid characterization, natural and beautiful prose, and rich portrayals of the immigrant experience. Diaz immigrated to the United States from Santo Domingo as a child, and went on to acquire degrees from Rutgers and Cornell, and to become a professor at MIT. But in 2018, Diaz’s career became embroiled by accusations of misogyny and abuse–accusations which publicly damaged his reputation yet did not result in institutional punishments. He has not published any book-length works since then, making this volume, This Is How You Lose Her, his last major work to date. It is a critically praised collection of short stories, most of which were first published in the New Yorker. Reviews in 2012 said it was Diaz at his best, proving him to be a lasting talent in American letters.

This first edition, first printing is signed by Junot Diaz on the title page. It is in fine condition. In the original half cloth boards, very nearly fine with only minor bump to foot of spine. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, fine.

A fine signed first edition by Junot Diaz.
