Andre Dubus III is a celebrated American author whose fiction is compelling, elegant, and at times, brutal. He has won many awards, including the Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Magazine Award for fiction. His 1999 bestselling novel, House of Sand and Fog, was a finalist for the National Book Award. It was also adapted to film, starring Jennifer Connolly and Ben Kingsley. Then in 2008, Dubus published this volume, The Garden of Last Days, an equally riveting and seedy work that weaves together several characters who are connected by their interactions at a Florida gentlemen’s club. It met positive reviews and has remained high on the list of Dubus’s best works. The book was slated for a film adaptation of the same name in 2014, but the project was scrapped after director James Franco announced his exit mere weeks before production began.

This first edition is signed and dated by Dubus III on the title page. It is in about fine condition. In the original half cloth boards, about fine with only minor bumping to spine ends and minor crease to front hinge. Text block about fine, only bookstore security tag to front endpaper and remainder mark to bottom edge. In the original dust jacket, near fine with only minor rubbing to edges.

An about fine signed first edition by Andre Dubus III.
