German-American philosopher Hannah Arendt was one of the most impactful political philosophers of the twentieth century. A student of Heidegger, Husserl, and Jaspers, she eventually fled the Nazi regime and went on to publish major works of philosophy, most notably The Origins of Totalitarianism and the Human Condition. In this volume, The Life of the Mind, Arendt provides some of the last work she published that returns her thinking to moral philosophy. It was unfinished at the time of her death, with only two completed volumes of the three planned. Still, its contents prove especially important for Arendt’s larger body of work. The two volumes––Thinking and Willing––trace her theory of how the mind practices morality.

This set of second printings is in very good condition. In the original cloth, very good with some soiling and dampstaining. Text blocks about-fine, only minor soiling to edges. In the original dust jackets, volume one very good with only minor bumping and dampstaining, volume two good with more dampstaining and rippling. With the original slipcase, very good with some chipping, soiling, and dampstaining.

A very good set of Arendt’s The Life of the Mind.
