American politician Gavin Newsom is one of the most recognizable figures in the Democratic Party today. His political career began in San Francisco. He served on several commissions and committees before being elected as the city’s mayor in 2003. He then served as California’s lieutenant governor and then was elected the state’s governor in 2018. From this position, he garnered national attention and became a frontrunner for the democratic nominee for president. In Young Man in a Hurry, Newsom recounts his family history, personal life, and political career. The work is seemingly confessional, but was largely ghostwritten by Mark Arax and undoubtedly curates its narrative with the 2028 presidential election in mind. Still, it is an important work telling Newsom’s backstory from his perspective. Throughout the work, he reveals experiences, mistakes, and privileges that culminate in his ascendancy within the democratic party.

This first edition, first printing is signed by Newsom on the publisher’s tipped in signature page. It is in fine condition. In the original quarter cloth, fine. Text block fine. In the original dust jacket, fine.
