Dame Laura Knight was an English painter and printmaker and a pioneering woman in England’s arts establishment. She produced exceptional realist paintings in the early twentieth century. She also began etching in the period. Her etchings showcase an exploration of the form–with all manner of subject and numerous styles, but always masterfully done. In this set of prints, Knight’s etchings are reproduced for subscribers of the Modern Masters of Etching series. The series was published in the 1920s and 30s.
