Carl Sandburg was one of the most celebrated American authors of the twentieth century. He won the Pulitzer Prize an astounding three times–twice for Poetry and once for Biography. While in his lifetime he was best known for his poetry, with a career as notable as Robert Frost, Sandburg’s legacy has largely been defined today by his non-fiction, especially his biographies of Abraham Lincoln. In this volume, Remembrance Rock, Carl Sandburg provides a novel of outstanding quality. It is an epic narrative about an American family in search of their version of the American Dream. The sprawling work contains some of Sandburg’s best prose. It also showcases his deep knowledge of American history and culture.

This first trade edition, first printing is inscribed by Sandburg on the front free endpaper. It is in very good condition. In the original full cloth, near-fine with only bumping to spine ends. Text block near-fine, only minor soiling and foxing to edges. In the original dust jacket, very good with minor chipping, foxing, and closed tears. Preceded only by the signed limited first edition of only 1,000 copies.

A very good inscribed first trade edition by Carl Sandburg.
