In response, grandmasters have labored intensely to develop unique strategies for black. There have been numerous books on the subject, but An Opening Repertoire for Black is widely considered one of the best black strategy books ever published. Its authors, Drazen Marovic and Bruno Parma, were two highly competitive chess grandmasters in the twentieth century. After years competing at the highest levels, they both dedicated significant time to the chess community through commentary, training, and writing classic chess texts. This volume represents a rare case where both Marovic and Parma worked collaboratively. The result was a spectacular chess strategy classic.
