Mexican-American activist Cesar Chavez was one of the most influential figures in the labor and civil rights movements of the twentieth century. He helped to found the United Farm Workers union and he led some of the largest boycotts and labor protests in American history. In Cesar Chavez: Autobiography of La Causa, Chavez recalls the formations of his political activism as well as some of his defining moments. The work was edited and co-authored by Jacques Levy, a journalist who spent years compiling the book through interviews and correspondence with Chavez and his contemporaries. It is the authoritative text on Cesar Chavez.
