$20.00
John Gregory Dunne was an American journalist and author who published several popular works in the late twentieth century. He had a successful career as a screenwriter, but published fiction and non-fiction works as well. He was also the husband of acclaimed author Joan Didion. In The Red White and Blue, he provides a political novel about a fictional American family with significant political power and influence. The work reflects on the 1960s and 70s, with intense focus on the social tensions of the period. While it wasn’t as well-received as his previous bestseller, True Confessions, The Red White and Blue was highly anticipated and ambitious. It is Dunne’s reflection on America, capturing some of the cynicism and disillusionment that accompanied the post-Vietnam era.
