The criminalization and prohibition of marijuana throughout the twentieth century led to numerous underground and counterculture initiatives in sharing information about cannabis. Perhaps no text encompasses these initiatives more than The Cultivator’s Handbook of Marijuana. It is considered a cult classic, an authoritative guide to growing your own pot. First published in 1970 by the mysterious Tribe of Thumb in Berkeley, the text was widely circulated and reprinted, reaching cities all over the United States. Author Bill Drake subsequently became a leader in the opposition against the cannabis prohibition. His work is clearly written by true agriculturalists and cannabis experts–prioritizing technical knowledge and accuracy above all else. This first revised edition was disseminated by the Agrarian Reform Company. It includes an appendix on detecting opioid contamination. It is one of the most important works on cannabis from the period.

This first revised edition, first printing is inscribed by Drake on the title page. It is in very good condition. In the original wrappers, very good with only some toning, creases, rubbing, and soiling. Staples holding firm. Text block fine.
