Francisco de Goya was a Spanish painter and printmaker. He is one of the most influential artists of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. His works defined Romanticism in the period, including his etchings. They are full of dark imagery. In these examples, Goya’s etchings are reproduced for subscribers of the Modern Masters of Etching series. The series was published in the 1920s and 30s. Each plate is tipped onto its original page.
