Harper Lee astounded critics and readers alike with her debut novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. The work stood alone in her list of published works until 2015 when Go Set A Watchman, an earlier version of the novel, was published. Widely regarded as one of the greatest novels of the 20th century and required reading for schools across the United States since its publication, To Kill a Mockingbird is a mainstay in the modern western literary canon. It is a heartwarming story that weaves racial injustice, class disparities, gender inequality, and the loss of childhood innocence into a tender, striking coming-of-age tale that has burned its way into the heart of America’s national conscience. To Kill a Mockingbird was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize. It was also adapted into a 1962 film of the same name starring Gregory Peck as the heroic Atticus Finch.

This thirty-fifth anniversary edition, twentieth printing is inscribed by Harper Lee on the half-title page. It is in very good condition. In the original casing, very good with only bumping to bottom edges. Text block very good, only minor cracking along hinges of first two pages. In the original dust jacket, about-fine with only bumping to edges. This copy also contains a newspaper cartoon of Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch.

A very good inscribed thirty-fifth anniversary edition of To Kill a Mockingbird.
