The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, is perhaps Shakespeare’s most famous play. It is certainly one of his greatest tragedies with productions and versions reappearing continuously across the globe. Hamlet tells the story of its eponymous character’s revenge upon his uncle, Claudius, who murdered Hamlet’s father and married his mother, Gertrude. In five acts, the play presents some of Shakespeare’s most memorable side characters, too, including Polonius, Ophelia, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. This collector’s edition by the Easton Press is a facsimile of the Bell & Sons 1905 edition. It is in the uniform binding from the 2008 Easton Press publication of a series of Shakespeare’s plays.

This collector’s edition is in fine condition. In the original uniform leather with elaborate gilt stamping, fine. Raised bands. Gilt spine label. Text block fine. Gilt edges. Silk moire endpapers and bookmark sewn in.
