Quire: A Literary Tract is a rare and special selection of letterpress printings. The series recalls the medieval quire in that it is a less-than-full-length book selection of pages by a single author. The series also recalls the earliest chapbooks from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries after printing became ubiquitous enough to become affordable so that the general public could buy literature of all sorts, including poetry and fiction, and even illiterate audiences could enjoy them as these folded sheets were often illustrated and were read aloud. With those sentiments in mind, The Last Press (an extension of the Sutton Hoo Press) releases these limited printings of Quire: A Literary Tract. Each issue presents a different author, poets and writers whose work stands out for its literary brilliance. All issues are limited printings, usually of 100 copies or less. They are a spectacular, affordable entry into collecting fine press editions.

Each issue is in fine condition. Folded pamphlets of various sizes, all fine. Some contain limitation lines, others do not, but all are limited to 100 copies or less.

A fine series of limited pamphlets. Make a selection by issue/author.
