John Updike is one of the most celebrated American authors of all time. The first printing was only 10,000 copies, making this edition one of Updike’s scarcest. This first edition, first printing is signed by Updike on the title page. It is in very good condition. In the original cloth spine and paper boards, very good with only fading and soiling to edges and two small bumps to bottom edge. Text block very good, only former owner signature to front free endpaper and small tears to front endpaper along the hinge. In the first state dust jacket, very good with only fading to spine and minor creases, chips, and closed tears along the edges. With the sixteen-line description to front flap and $4.00 price.
