The Pilgrim’s Progress is often cited as the first novel in English. First published in 1678, it is a theological journey, dealing with themes of sin, salvation, and religious freedom. It is one of the most widely read texts from the 17th century, affecting readers directly and indirectly ever since. This Easton Press Collector’s Edition includes illustrations from William Blake’s unfinished 1820s edition. All water-colors, they are phenomenal representations of the text. 

This collector’s edition is in fine condition. Bound in full slate leather with lavish 22k gilt stamping. Raised bands. Orange silk endpapers and bookmark ribbon sewn in. All edges gilt. William Blake water-colors are fine.
