Ikebana: Chat with Flowers. By Noriko Ohno. First Edition, First Printing. Hikarinokuni Publishing. Osaka, 1963.

$30.00

In the mid-twentieth century, Madame Noriko Ohno was one of the most recognizable international figures in the world of Ikebana. She traveled to every major country for Ikebana exhibitions, showcasing a generational command of the artform and an incredible ability to teach its subtleties and history. She became the president of the International Ikebana Academy and published several works on the subject. In this slim concertina, Noriko Ohno provides several dozen color illustrations of arranged flowers along with brief notes on the materials, the signification, and the containers. The traditional concertina form and the thoroughness of styles presented in this volume extend Ikebana to admiring readers. It is a delightful, scarce edition.

This first edition, first printing is in very good condition. In the original paper wrappers, very good with only creases and bumps and rubbing to edges. Concertina text block near fine, only minor creases to one corner.

A very good first edition of Ikebana: Chat with Flowers.
