Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is one of America’s best poets from the 19th century. “Paul Revere’s Ride” and The Song of Hiawatha are considered his greatest works. He was one of the Fireside Poets who saw tremendous popularity in the mid 1800s. A master of lyric poetry, his work often includes moral or cultural themes. He was also influenced by mythologies from various cultures. In The Song of Hiawatha, Longfellow appropriates the stories of the Ojibwe to weave together an epic tale of Hiawatha and his love for Minnehaha.

This illustrated edition is in very good condition. In the original patterned boards, very good with only fading, chipping, and bumping to spine. Text block fine. In the original slipcase, about-fine with only minor soiling, chipping, and rubbing.
